Antigua (108 square miles) and Barbuda (65 square miles) are sister islands that lie east
of the Virgin Islands. Former British possessions, these islands are home to an English-speaking
people who have a reputation for humor and hospitality. Their nation is a land of sun, sand,
and sea and much more. Antigua's coast line is fringed with coral reefs, citadels of a wide
variety of fish, crustaceans and other sea creatures. The Shekerley Mountain range is rich
in flora and fauna, and is surrounded by extensive wetlands. Eco-tourism is very active
and in these islands you can see some of the rarest and most beautiful birds in the Caribbean.
